Sometimes the best laid plans get a detour, and that's what happened to our porch this fall. S0...some of my favorite fall touches are cornstalks and mums. There's something so homey and rustic and perfectly fall-ish about them and I've been adding them to our front porch for years.
I had already bought a bunch of pumpkins to sprinkle throughout our porch a few weeks ago, but hadn't gotten around to the cornstalks and mums yet.
Well, after a summer full of dumping money into keeping the old Durango alive, my car died its final death about two weeks ago. And while we were thankful to be blessed enough to car shop for a replacement, I knew I should just forget about the stalks and mums for 2017. When a big expense comes along, some of those smaller expenses have to go out the window, and this was one of those times.
So what's a blogger to do? Shop the house, of course!
I gathered a few items that I thought might give our porch the cozy autumn feels, even without my beloved farm stand favorites, and here's where I landed... an old chippy green chair, lots of vintage picnic ware, and comfy plaid throws and pillows!
It was a good reminder that with a house full of seasonal décor, I always have the option of shopping the house instead of the stores!
Thank you so much for stopping by our front porch today. Your visit means so much and I would love to sit down and have a real cup of coffee with you, if I could!
