I'm throwing a quick post out today to share the color theme for each room in our home this Christmas! Now, I'm thinking that technically, our entire house should probably somewhat coordinate when it comes to the décor. It should at least flow. But here's my dilemma...I love too many styles of Christmas! And I've collected so much over the years that I want to use bits of all of it. Christmas is such a short time of year, so I want to maximize on all the stuff that makes me happy!
I'll take you through the house room by room, starting at the front door. So here are the living room colors. Very traditional with hints of campy whimsy. It almost has a Pottery Barn Kids cheerful feel to it and both of our teenagers are loving it!
The dining room was decided because of these amazing fair isle stockings I found at Michael's a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure where I was headed with that room, but as soon as I saw the stockings, a vision of vintage blues and boxwood wreaths came to mind. Throw in pieces of jadeite, our olive wood nativity and some cedar branches, and it all came together.
The kitchen did a 180 this year with its simplicity. There's not much in there, but just enough and it's straight out of the Victorian era, but a very simplistic Victorian, with old santas, white pine, frosted berries and a touch of gold.
And yup, I even decorated the bathroom! Since it has blue walls, I stuck to whites and dark green bottle brush trees. There's a little galvanized metal in there too.
And last but certainly not least, the guest room has all vintage Christmas, which makes me so happy! Old Shiny Brites, Putz houses, and fun colors. I have some different ideas for the tree I plan to put in there too, but I'll wait to see if it works before I divulge that info!
I hope this was a little bit of a fun read because I had fun putting it together. Stay tuned for full room tours as we get further into the season!
