MERRY CHRISTMAS 2017

I cannot believe it's Christmas Eve Eve! I wasn't sure this post would actually happen, but I realized I wanted to do two things before Christmas actually arrives. First, I want to say a big heart-felt thank you for following along with what I've been sharing for the past four months! I wasn't sure what to expect when I got back into blogging, but so far so good. I love having a creative space in my own tiny little corner of the universe. And I've loved interacting with so many fun people!  {READ MORE}

BLUE CHRISMTAS DINING ROOM TOUR

My favorite room in our house is the dining room, and that doesn't seem to change from season to season. Any room with a window seat and french doors will always be my favorite! So let's start the tour! The inspiration for this year's Christmas dining room came from one thing...  {READ MORE}

A CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL: NOSTALGIC CHRISMTAS MANTEL

Friends, I can't even tell you how much fun I had putting this mantel area together for Christmas! For the past 5-6 years, I've done a neutral Christmas living room, and I loved it. It brought feelings of peace and calm and that's what I needed at that time. Enter 2017, and for some reason, I just craved color. Not just any color, but happy, bright colors that also bring cozy feelings of nostalgia.  {READ MORE}

SIMPLE CHRISTMAS PORCH 2017

It's hard to believe we've been living here for over a year and this is already our second Christmas in our new-ish-to-us home! Last year I was so excited to have a porch that I went big with decor. Lots of plaids, lots of vintage pieces, and lots of fun. This year I wanted to simplify a bit, and I wanted the focus to be these natural white pine and cedar garlands leading right up to the front door. For everything else, I shopped the storage room!  {READ MORE}

NO-SEW FELT CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS

Do you ever get an image stuck in your head that you can't erase? I get a decorating idea, and I start scouring the internet, trying to find what I'm looking for. Sometimes I find it and sometimes I don't, so when I can't find it, I try to figure out how I can make it happen on my own. That's what happened here! I have two of these red and gray buffalo check stockings that I picked up at Joann's a couple of years ago. I decided that I wanted two more gray felt stockings, but with green accents instead of red. So I started looking...and came up with nothing. Enter DIY mode! Now, I don't do one little bit of sewing, but I was 100% sure this could be pulled off with a glue gun instead of a sewing machine.  {READ MORE}

MINI VILLAGE WREATH

So many people have asked how I put this cute mini village wreath together, so I knew it was time for a blog post! I have been enamored with this Martha Stewart wreath for a couple of years now, and two Christmases ago, I was determined to make one for myself. Mine is a bit simpler with no snow and skiers, but it's the same general idea. {READ MORE}

TOUCHES OF HALLOWEEN

I can't believe we're a week away from Halloween! This year has flown by, and that makes me happy because October through December are basically what I live for. I'd like to say I'm joking, but when it comes down to it, I'm really not! When it comes to decorating the house for Halloween, I don't go too crazy, but I do like to add a few things here and there. My kids have always loved Halloween, and even though they don't go trick-or-treating anymore, I like to theme it up a little bit for them.  {READ MORE}

A FALL PORCH MINI-TOUR

Sometimes the best laid plans get a detour, and that's what happened to our porch this fall. S0...some of my favorite fall touches are cornstalks and mums. There's something so homey and rustic and perfectly fall-ish about them and I've been adding them to our front porch for years.  {READ MORE}

A COTTAGE FALL TOUR

This week I've teamed up with some amazing ladies to bring you some fall décor inspiration! Special thanks to my pal Jordan over at A Blue Nest for organizing this and including my baby blog. I've always loved following along with bloggers' home tours, seeing different styles and ideas through different seasons, so this has been really eciting for me. Now on to the fall fun!  {READ MORE}

LATE SUMMER COASTAL DECOR

Have I mentioned I grew up in Massachusetts? Well I did, and you KNOW I love this little town we live in now, but sometimes the ache for water is still an actual physical pain. When you grow up surrounded by lakes and the ocean, it stays with you for life. And here in central Ohio, the water situation is not great. There are a handful of smallish muddy lakes and ponds, but nothing really close to us. My in-laws live a few hours north, right near Lake Erie, and we always visit the water when we're there, but we're not there often enough. {READ MORE}
